September 10, 2018 Clean out those cobwebs/spiderwebs.

Does your brain every feel clogged?
Maybe like a cobweb or spiderweb?
Or perhaps the sensation of 'MORE COFFEE PLEASE'?
Or 'GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE'?
Mondays can be that way, especially if a good night's sleep is lacking.
Such was the setting for me this morning.
BLAH.

I was content to stay indoors(in my pjs), and let the doom and gloom of the upcoming  weather forecast dictate my plans for the day. We all have those days, you know. And sometimes we need a little motivation to get us moving forward again.
Then I remembered some quotes:
"Ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting your closer to where you want to be tomorrow."
"Do something today that your future self will thank you for."
"When you feel like quitting, remember why you started."
OUCH, OUCH, OUCH
Yes, I have a plan.
Yes, I have a goal.
Yes, I'm determined to reach my goal.

Get busy.
Clean out those cobwebs/spiderwebs.
They can be beautiful.
They can be deceitful.

Stay focused.
BAM.........
Today's goal reached!
One day at a time

September 3, 2018 Labor Day and Bike Ride

Happy Labor Day, September 3, 2018
I am thankful for those that work, as we celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers. These contributions have made our country strong and prosperous.
God Bless America .
Work is no disgrace; the disgrace is idleness ~
Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing~ Thomas Jefferson
Without labor nothing prospers.~ Sophocles.
My grandfather once told me there were two kinds of people; those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to be in the first group; there was much less competition.~ Indira Gandhi
Today, we took a break from our labor, and rode our bicycles.
From the Greenway.............

To parts of downtown Vinton and Roanoke............

To bridges and overlooks........

The fruits of our labor (well, OK, it was more of a scenic bike ride) allowed us to ride 12+ miles.

Did I say that it was a beautiful day?
The clouds were worth stopping for a photo opportunity, which made our ride extra long (time wise).
Happy Labor Day, 2018
