October 12-14, 2018 Charlotte in 36 hours

Our time was somewhat limited to 36 hours, but boy, did we pack it in!
Bam........Our number one extravaganza was this ↓↓↓ woot woot!!! BUCKET LIST 💙💙💙

Before seeing the broadway play, Hamilton, we checked into the Ritz Carlton, courtesy of Abby's co workers. BTW...... the play was also courtesy of her coworkers.
We dined before hand at the Fahrenheiet-Charlotte New American Restaurant......

Dinner with a veiw!

The Belk Theater Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is phenomenal.
"Not throwing away this shot"
If you have not had the pleasure of seeing the show........... SEE IT.
Steeped with history, humor, fabulous music, visual eye candy, costumes, set.....
****** BEFORE YOU GO........ LISTEN TO THE MUSIC ******
The scrip is hip hop, fast and furious. If you are not listening closely, you miss 1/2 of the story!
The following 9 photos are not mine:

These photos were taken from the original production at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. The musical "tells the story of forgotten American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and his ascent out of poverty and to power against the backdrop of the American War of Independence."
The lyrics were scripted by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Our accommodations for the weekend included 2 nights at the Ritz Charlton, Charlotte. ( 201 East Trade Street)
Yawn..... good morning world. Is it too early for brunch?

Amelie's French Bakery  was the perfect spot for brunch in uptown Charlotte.

A lovely October day to stroll through the historic district......

And of course, new to us, was the unique David Cerny's Metalmorophosis Statue-Fountain, one of the seven wonders of Charlotte, located at Whitehall Corporate Center. (METALMORPHOSIS )

Next stop was the DANIEL STOWE BOTANICAL GARDEN Belmont, NC

The October weather was ordered, just for us!
Backing up the weekend, before we checked into out hotel, we had time to visit the BILLY GRAHAM LIBRARY. 40,000 square foot of landscaped acres, retracing Billy Graham's life, including the restored Graham family homeplace, bookstore, and memorial prayer garden.

A most memorable weekend with Abby!

October 9, 2018 #1 West Virginia~ Sandstone Falls

October 9, 2018
Hinton, West Virginia.
A beautiful location, these falls take awhile to get to but worth the drive.
This fall, Ron and I opted to travel to our nearby neighborhood state, instead of driving miles for a week or two south, north, east, or west. This decision made for some fantastic day trips to first-time places that were worth seeing.
Sandstone Falls is an enormously wide and complicated waterfall on the New River. .... Like  a thousand plus foot wide!!!

It was a cloudy day, which was perfect for photogaphy! Sandstone Falls is the largest waterfall on the New River. The journey to view the falls require some driving time, along two of the park's most scenic roads. Route 20 passes this scenic view!

After juggling with a few of the osage orange tree fruits, there is a short walk to view the falls. 😀😀

The city of Hinton was dressed for fall. Population might exceed 2600 and was established in 1873.

We were about 2 weeks early for fall foliage, but made for a relaxing trip.
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!
