Yep, it was a Thursday evening, and yes, you were a month ahead of schedule, and yes you took your sweet time when labor started, and YES.........you did not sleep all night until you were 9 months old.....but OH THE SWEET SOUNDS OF YOUR VOICE! I should have known that you had made a decision early in your life to be your own person, and do things your way, and not march to any one's music but your own. You were not concerned about what your wore, what you ate, where your slept, or what your hair looked like! You were blessed to have a 12 yr old brother Walter, and a 10 yr old sister Sarah, who cared for you, and loved you as much as your Mom and Dad. And you surely were not concerned that Mom and Dad would be the oldest parents in nursery school, elementary school, and high school.....no, we were not your grandparents! Lots of your naps were in the car seat, on a soccer field, at dance or piano lessons, in a stroller, football games, or in the car helping me with car pools. I guess that is why you "go with the flow" so easily.
Happy Birthday My Daughter, My Friend
You came to me with naught save love
You came, uniquely you
What a perfect gift God gave away
On this very special day
I’ve watched and prayed as you have grown
In beauty and in grace
You bring me joy and pure delight
Just to gaze upon your lovely face
My heart is with you every moment
Wherever you may go
You’ll always be my precious girl
And I’ll always love you so
You grew, and you grew, and you grew, and you grew! Who knew you would develop such talents and skills as playing the cello, being a tennis star, or a photographer, or writer, or a crafter, or a runner, or a wife, or a mom.
