When birds of a feather get together......

We had a great time Friday with our friend, Garland Kitts, at Cherry Blossom Trail, This trail is part of the Greenfield Recreational Trail in Daleville, Va. Garland is very experienced in taking bird photos, and shared his techniques with us. Boy, do we have a lot to learn!

Later in the afternoon, Ron and I ventured to another beautiful area ↑↑↑... Izaak Walton League, Boones Mill, Va 

The setting was exquisite. The land, water reflections, clouds, were bursting with color.

What a magnificent evening!
Roanoke Symphony Orchestra presented Sinatra and Friends.
Starring Steve Lippia
David Stewart Wiley, conductor.
Iconic hits made famous by:
Bobby Darin
Nat "King" Cole
Tony Benett
Vic Damoe
Sammy Davis, Jr
and......
"Ol'Blue Eyes" himself... Frank Sinatra.....

We laughed.
We clapped.
We moved with the beat of the orchestra.
A night to be remembered.
A night to be happy!
Yep, we were swinging with the best!

October 16, 2019 Pumpkins and Pumpkin Roll

Fall happened over night.
The rain swept through the valley.
The wind blew.
The fireplaces were momentarily warming our feet.
Nothing says Fall in Virginia like PUMPKINS.

We use them in arrangements, in wreaths, on table tops, as a compliment to mums.....

They are used as spices, in sprays, scents, candles and coffees.

Today was the perfect day to be in the kitchen. 
Ahhhhhh the Pumpkin Roll.🎃🎃🎃
(If you should stumble upon Bath, Maine, stop in at the PRYOR HOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST . What a treat! The Pumpkin Roll recipe is listed under her recipes..... I added some walnuts to the filling, and a dash of pumpkin pie spice to the cake.
