April 18, 2019 Camp KK and Papa 2019 Day#4

Thursday April 18, 2019
Dear Mom and Dad,
Yes, we really were 'ALLOWED' a little bit of free time.

But we had to get up early, and be real quiet! (because we knew that after KK and Papa had their coffee, it would be ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM 😍😍😍
Our first new adventure took place near the hospital...... RIDING THE TROLLEY!
It was FREE!
We missed the first bus, but that was OK, because we ran around the block and climbed trees!

We boarded the bus, and off we went to the city market!

We were not on the trolley long, but passed by the following stops!

Our first destination was the Roanoke City Market
Thanks KK and Papa for letting us have ice cream before lunch!

No visits to the market are allowed without a quick bite of comfort food at the famous Roanoke Weiner Stand!

The market area has so much to see!

On our way home, we got to pull the string, that rang the bell, that let the driver know we wanted to get off of the bus at the next stop!KK and Pap told us that the bus was their mode of transportation when they were growing up 😬😬😬

Our next stop, after we got off of the bus, was to the parkway.

And then to the Roanoke Mountain Campground . Because it was not spring break in this area, we had the entire place to ourselves........ Boy did we have fun!

We brought our scooters with us! What a great place to ride!

Roanoke has some awesome parks.
We went to soooooooo many of them.
Our favorite was Smith Park.
It is beside the Roanoke River Greenway and Wiley Drive.....very close to KK and Papa's house.

It has been another action packed day, and we are ready to go back to KK and Papa's house, and get a bath and GO TO BED!

April 17, 2019 Camp KK and Papa 2019 Day#3

Wednesday, April 17, 2019
Too much planning, and going, and doing, is not always the best approach to camp.
By Wednesday morning, EVERYONE was ready to chill......
Landon and Katelyn were content to be indoors.
First order of the day was breakfast.
Landon seemed eager to participate, and boy did he do a good job!
ALL BY HIMSELF 😀

I'm here to tell you the young man is amazingly proficient!

He beamed from ear to ear at his accomplishments.
AND he fixed his younger sister, Katelyn's breakfast as well!

The rest of Day #3 was consumed by doing a few household preparations for the coming Friday celebration....Setting the table, stuffing the plastic eggs for "the hunt".
We read books that were checked out from library.

And for a little treat, and some outdoor time....... a trip to 7-11 and a stop at the favorite neighborhood store!

It was a good day for catching our breath, and getting ready for an action-packed Thursday!

April 16, 2019 Camp KK and Papa 2019 Day#2

Spring Break Tuesday April 16, 2019
Dear Mom and Dad,
Tuesday was as busy as Monday.
I think we met 1/2 of Roanoke.
We went downtown,

visited with special friends,

and met some of their friends on the greenway,

As promised, KK took us to the park to shoot baskets, and ride scooters,  blow a few dandelions, and uhhh... play in the water!!!!!!

 Did we say, play in the water? Yep. KK said y'all wouldn't mind if we stuck our toes in the water 😀😀😀.....so, we did!

We DID NOT want to leave the park, but KK and Papa said that we had:
places to go,
people to see,
things to do.
First, a quick trip was made, to our cousin's house to feed the chickens, gather the eggs, and feed their cat James. LOVE THE CAT..... not too sure about the chickens. 😂😂😂

Then home for lunch in the tree house.

There was NO TIME for TV, ipads, or napping.
Back in the car, and up to Mill Mountain we went.
It was after dinner, so we had ICE CREAM AND COOKIES at the star.

The sun was setting, but we had plenty of light to ride our scooters.

We were ready to go home and go to bed. I can't remember if we took a bath or not!
KK promised us that we would take it a bit slower on Wednesday.

April 15, 2019 Camp KK and PaPa 2019 Day#1

Spring Break Monday, April 15, 2019
Dear Mom and Dad.
Monday we were busy!
After breakfast, we went to feed James, the cat, and feed the chickens.
We love James. We liked the chickens, too, but they kinda smell funny.... 😆

Wyatt's basketball hoop was nice.
We are going to a park to practice on a higher one.

Mom and Dad, Patrick Henry High School is awesome!
It was windy, and we got our shoes a little wet, but that is OK, 'cause they are dry now.

Mom and Dad, we would like to go to school here, it is so much fun!

There are lots of trees to climb, too!

We kept on our helmets, just like you told us to!
We had time to run around the track a few times!

KK and Papa had snacks in the car.
 We went to the Roanoke Co+op health food store before going to see the movie, Dumbo.
Mom and Dad, we are eating pretty good.
Sometimes we have dessert first, but we are eating lots of broccoli!

We love the The Grandin Theatre.
We almost had the whole place to ourselves!

Remind us to tell you our favorite parts about the movie!
KK and PaPa liked it, too!
We went back to the house to cook!
We cracked some of eggs that Roxanne, Henrietta, Penny, and Sydney gave us.

Mom, guess what we made?
SPOON BREAD! It was very good.
Papa made egg salad, too.
We are trying new foods, just like you told us to 😇😇😇

Before dinner, we went to the library to get books to read this week!

We watched the sun set, and saw the moon at the SAME TIME!
Yes, the moon was out in the daylight!

We are going to bed early tonight.
It had been a busy day, and we need our sleep.
KK and Papa have a lot for us to do on Tuesday.
