October 9, 2018 #1 West Virginia~ Sandstone Falls

October 9, 2018
Hinton, West Virginia.
A beautiful location, these falls take awhile to get to but worth the drive.
This fall, Ron and I opted to travel to our nearby neighborhood state, instead of driving miles for a week or two south, north, east, or west. This decision made for some fantastic day trips to first-time places that were worth seeing.
Sandstone Falls is an enormously wide and complicated waterfall on the New River. .... Like  a thousand plus foot wide!!!

It was a cloudy day, which was perfect for photogaphy! Sandstone Falls is the largest waterfall on the New River. The journey to view the falls require some driving time, along two of the park's most scenic roads. Route 20 passes this scenic view!

After juggling with a few of the osage orange tree fruits, there is a short walk to view the falls. 😀😀

The city of Hinton was dressed for fall. Population might exceed 2600 and was established in 1873.

We were about 2 weeks early for fall foliage, but made for a relaxing trip.
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!
